READY TO VOTE?
To vote in Toronto’s municipal election, you must be:
- A Canadian citizen; and
- At least 18 years old; and
- A resident of the City of Toronto; or
- A non-resident of Toronto, but you or your spouse own or rent property in Toronto; and
- Not prohibited from voting under any law.
Use Voter Registration to check, update, add or remove your voter information and/or property from the voters’ list. You will need to upload ID and/or property documentation.
Online deadline: October 11 at 7:00 PM.
After the online deadline, eligible voters can still add themselves to the voters’ list when they vote in person with the required identification.
Bring one piece of ID that shows your name and qualifying Toronto address.
Photo ID is not required.
Examples include:
- ✓ Ontario driver’s licence or Ontario Photo Card
- ✓ Utility bill (hydro, gas, water, phone or cable)
- ✓ Bank, credit card or mortgage statement
- ✓ Lease/rental agreement or property tax assessment
- ✓ Government-issued document with your name and qualifying Toronto address
These cannot be used as identification when you vote:
- ✕ Voter Information Card
- ✕ Canadian passport
Have a Voter Information Card?
Bring it with you to help make voting faster, along with acceptable ID. A Voter Information Card is not required to vote and cannot be used as identification.
